• Rarest one-of-a-kind EDWARD VOM HOFE 1/0 SDF SALMON Reel Model 504 Extra-Wide Custom Built MULTIPLIER

• This incredible rarity has an unusual 3/16" wide built-up front plate, which totals 1/2" wide, with inner spool frame. This reel has a standard internal drag, with twist-off aluminum handle, foot and spool, factory executed initials "A. R." in red on the front-plate. This has a unique factory custom-design tiny click button on the front plate of the reel. All other 504's have the click on the back. This reel is curious in other ways being 3 1/4" wide, the widest 1/0 ever seen. The rear drag selector has the usual range, however there are no detent clicks. The spool also is unusual as it has an aluminum arbor rather than the standard bronze. Lastly, the reel is built with double-reverse gearing, creating a spool which works in opposition to the direction the handle is turned. A totally fascinating example of Edward's genius and perhaps one of the earliest 504 reels ever built. Its size and model are clearly marked and its weight is amazingly light at 7 1/4 oz. This is a bright and wonderful example of the most desirable possible size of an EDWARD VOM HOFE dry fly reel.
